Kashmir has always been a prime target of terrorists since our independence. This state is the most frequent victim of cross border terrorism. Apart from major wars, such as the Kargil war, this region keeps experiencing moderate to severe clashes between Indian army and terrorists.
But our CRPF forces face much serious problem when civilians start protesting against them. In such cases, our jawans try to control the situation without hurting any civilian as far as possible. However, sometimes the protest becomes so severe that CRPF jawans have to take some serious steps.
One such incident occurred at a place called Chadoora in Budgam district. Civilians started protesting against CRPF as the jawans killed a militant on Tuesday morning. The civilians started their protest at the encounter site and started throwing stones over the CRPF jawans. The local police force and CRPF had tried their best to control the aggression. But as the situation was getting out of control and around 63 jawans were hurt, the CRPF decided to start firing. In this course of events, 3 civilians were dead. This is the highest number of civilians’ death in any such protest till date. These three civilians were youngsters named – Zahid Rashid Ganie, Saqib Ahmad and Ishfaq Ahmad.
The situations become worse since then. The CM of state Mehbooba Mufti and CRPF DIG had pleaded the public to remain calm and let the CRPF do their work.
Various leaders have called for a shutdown in valley after this incident. Also, the railway services are suspended.
